BJP has an array of leaders in UP like Yogi Adityanath, Keshav Prasad Maurya, Shashi Maharaj, Vina Kathyar, Mahesh Sharma etc. But Narendra Modi is a towering personality whose appeal for votes is recognized and respected by the people. He is a great orator. Also, the affiliation of RSS with BJP is also not hidden, and with the support of few radical groups like Bajrang Dal & VHP, they do have ground support as well. But after a landslide victory of BJP, common people was hoping for a CM with a more modern view supporting BJP’s view of Digital India. But just like Maharashtra, Haryana, and Chattisgarh, BJP shocked everyone by naming Yogi Adityanath as next Uttar Pradesh CM. But if you carefully look the points below, it was obvious:
1-Yogi Adityanath is the five-time member of parliament from Gorakhpur. He is a Pro-Hindu leader and very famous among Hindus for fighting for their cause and preservation of Hindu religion. About 80% population in UP is Hindu.
2- He is very young and charismatic leader. Being the young & experienced one; he seems to have better potential and vision for channelising the bubbling energy of youth. This must have given him an edge over other veteran BJP leaders of Uttar Pradesh.
3-. He has been quite vocal in parliament and has been raising issues with Alacrity. It’s not that he raises issues related to Hindutva only. In fact, he has been equally concerned about issues that have the potential of impacting the lives of the poor strata of the society including Muslim minorities in eastern UP.
4- Though Yogi Adityanath has been part of many controversies in the past. But he is a very popular leader not only in UP but across the country especially among the Hindus. Appointing him as the CM of UP might be the BJP’s strategy of not losing its traditional Hindu vote bank.
5-When Rajat Sharma asked this question to Yogi Adityanath in his show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’, an unapologetic Yogi Adityanath said that nobody has the right to practice forcible conversion. This shows that though he might seem to be a Hindu bigot but he respects every religion.
6- After becoming CM, he will be having many responsibilities on his shoulders and dealing with them effectively will be his top priority for which people have voted for BJP. It means that in near future, possibilities of hearing any controversial and hatred remarks from his side and other Hindu fanatics’ side would be very less as he will be occupied, which will result into harmony in society automatically.
7- As his name suggests, Yogi Adityanath is a Sanyasi who holds the degree of from Garhwal University, Uttarakhand. Sanyasi (Hermit) is a person who is free from worldly attachments. So at least now people of UP can be assured that they have a CM who will work for them rising above nepotism and corruption with no family affiliations, kinda like Narendra Modi.
8- Many don’t know this, but Gorakhpur Hindu Muth plays a vital role in Nepal Governance and has a huge say in current Pro-Hindu Nepal government. This could have been a huge factor while deciding for UP chief minister.
Pros of Yogi Adityanath as CM:-
- A highly popular leader in Poorvanchal region
- Good control on Hindu votes of the region
- Consolidation of Hindu Identity which mighty help BJP in 2019 elections
- 5 time MP, so good legislative experience
- Knows the problems of people
- Simple living
- no shade of corruption
- Might help in consolidation of entire UP and integration of Poorvanchal with rest of UP
- End of caste politics
- End of minority appraisal
- Can help BJP in projecting as Party of all by treating Muslims equally
- End of Nepotism and bhai bhatijawad
- No administrative experience
- Non-liberal and partisan right-wing views may create problems for the party
- Lack of experience quite young to handle such a big state without any prior experience
Let us see how much Yogi Ji is able to transform U.P into a more protected state in terms of employment, revenue, development, and crime and revive Uttar Pradesh to its former glory.
Jai Hind ! Jai Bharat!
